In Moath Alofi, the world has found a master storyteller. His imagery captures ancient paintings and carvings stubbornly ingrained into the golden walls of abandoned sand houses once occupied by now-forgotten civilizations, as well as uncharted land with sand as dark as the kohl that frames the eyes of Bedouin women. 

In his photos of the sacred, winding road to Medina, you’ll find secluded mosques. Although vacated and lost in the vast Saudi deserts, the lands and structures in Alofi’s work carry remnants of lives and civilizations whose voices have not been heard — until now.
